Congratulations to Nate M. for being our marvelous MVP of the week. We enjoyed learning more about our special friend when he shared his banner with us on Friday. We also had fun celebrating Jerry’s birthday, too!
Thank you all for making my birthday so special! I truly appreciate all the sweet cards, delicious candy, and thoughtful gifts. I just LOVE my Kendra Scott necklace and bracelet from the whole class! It was the BEST birthday ever!
Also, thank you so much for all your donations for our Stone Soup. Our soup was a delicious treat and it all started with one stone.
The CCE Library and I thank you for your purchases at our Fall Book Fair. The proceeds always go back to our students in materials and guest author visits. Thank you for your generous support and all the books that you donated to our classroom library!
What a pleasure it was to see so many parents at our Thanksgiving Luncheon on Wednesday. May you create many wonderful memories over the Thanksgiving break with your friends and family. I am truly grateful to be a part of this amazing Canyon Creek community and being your child’s third grade teacher.
With a thankful heart,
Joni
3rd GRADE and CCE CAMPUS NEWS:

Buddy Books:
All third graders will need to bring appropriate books to read to their kinder reading buddy. They will have to have their books on Friday, December 1st.
Nutcracker Field Trip:
Thank you for returning your child’s permission slip to our annual “Nutcracker” performance. The date is December 14th and we are seeing the second act. Due to the timing we need ALL students to bring lunch from home that day. We will eat in our class before we board the bus. This is always one of my favorite field trips that we attend.

If your child has a speaking part in “December ‘Round the World,” he/she should have their lines memorized over the Thanksgiving holiday. Now is the time to work on projection. Have your child spend a few minutes each night saying their lines SLOWLY and LOUDLY.
TAG Referral Window Now Open:
The TAG Referral Window is now open. You may refer your student for testing by using the online link found on the CCE website under the "What's Happening" section. The deadline for referring your student and submitting all paperwork is 4:00 pm on December 8th.
Fall Picture Retakes:
Picture retakes will be done on November 30th. If you want your child's picture retaken, you will need to send the packet with them on the 30th.
Weekly Homework:
Planners are completed daily. Please check and initial your child’s planner nightly. These students still require support from home.
Students are required to read for a minimum of 20 minutes per night and record a quick response on their reading logs. Logs are DUE every Wednesday. Book Bucks are earned with every 100 minutes read. Students can “purchase” books from our “Book Buck Library” with 10 book bucks.
Nightly reading is crucial to your child's overall reading success. Reading should be an interactive process, so please remember to initial your child's log before turning it in on Wednesday.
Each Friday students will receive spelling lists and worksheets. Practice spelling the words correctly and complete the homework worksheets as they are due each Thursday. Spelling Tests will be administered on Fridays.
