YUMMY!!! Thank you to the PTA for providing the faculty and staff with a delicious luncheon today. These monthly feasts are very much appreciated.
ECONOMIC PROJECTS: We hope your child’s items are coming along. We know that it takes time, but appreciate you guiding your child on this. We will also start collecting spare change next week for our charity in water jugs located in the front hall for “Water to Thrive”.
We filmed our commercials this week, and I am so proud of the children’s dedication in making their companies successful for our 3rd Grade Economics Expo on February 11th at 2:45 in the CCE Cafeteria. We look forward to shopping with you.
BAKE SALE: One component of our Hall Mall is a bake sale. A pink volunteer form went home a few weeks ago asking for volunteers to consider making baked goods. Thank you for those who have volunteered already! If you are planning to bake a goody, please send your slip in this week. Also, we still need a volunteer or two in helping to sale these yummy desserts during the Economics Expo! Thank for your support in advance!
LIBRARY READING PROGRAM: We have kicked off our Six Flags reading program. Since your child is already reading 20 minutes nightly, this is the perfect opportunity to participate. Please encourage your child to complete both their homework reading log and the Six Flags reading sheet. Thank you!
REMINDER: Wednesday, February 3rd is an early release day. Students will be released at 12:45.
SAY CHEESE: Just a reminder that our class picture will be taken on Thursday, February 11. Payment envelopes went home in the Tuesday folder and are due on or before picture day. Let me know if you need another envelope.
VALENTINE’S DAY PARTY: A pink paper will be coming home in your child's Tuesday Folder with a class list, dates and instructions for bringing in a decorated Valentine box or bag. We are looking forward to our party on Friday, February 12th.
Parents, we wanted to let you know that childcare will be available for siblings (at least 1 year old) during the Valentine Party scheduled for Friday, February 12th in the Parent Resource Center located in the portables. You will be able to drop off your children at 1:15 pm and the center will be open until 2:45 pm. Cost is $7 per child. Reservations are required and will be accepted until Wednesday, February 10thth or until space runs out. To make a reservation, please contact Mary Anne Hettenhaus, Family Support Specialist at Canyon Creek. Please include the name and age of the children you will be dropping off. You can email her at [email protected].
CCE CHARACTER TRAIT FOR FEBRUARY: Our character word for February is FRIENDSHIP. A good friend listens. A good friend is loyal. A good friend accepts you for who you are and always treats you with respect. In February, if your teacher sees you being a good friend, then you will get a sticker to wear all day so that other students will know that you demonstrated our Character Word of the Month!
STAYING CONNECTED: Please read my webpage each weekend with your child. This is the best way to stay informed on all that goes on in our classroom. It’s also important to check your child’s homework folder and planner DAILY for assignments and work not completed in class. Please contact me if and when you have any questions.
