Thank you to the parents who helped put our Annual CCE Multicultural Fair together today, and to all the families that participated in the week's events.
What a great experience that allows us to see many different cultures that are represented at our school and in our community.
FREE BREAKFAST: Our 4th & 5th grade students will be STAAR testing Tuesday, March 29th and Wednesday, March 30th! Those mornings breakfast is FREE to ALL students! Students can start their day off right with a delicious meal in the cafeteria and then head off to their classrooms! Please be sure to visit with your child to be mindful of testing on those dates! Our 4th & 5th graders will appreciate a quiet testing environment!
SILENT AUCTION: In the Tuesday folder you found a flyer regarding the silent auction baskets and donations needed for them. We will be collecting new items for this until Friday, April 1st. Our grade level theme is FAMILY FUN NIGHT. Currently we have received two movies, a game and two puzzles. Funds raised from the sales from each grade level basket fund PTA programs that benefit all students.
TEACHER TREATS: Teacher treat flyers went home in the Tuesday folders and are due by April 1st. Sales from this raffle benefit PTA as well. Third grade teachers are looking forward to the pizza lunch with one of their students and a friend on April 7th!
BALLOON LAUNCH: Is once again rescheduled for April 1st. Weather conditions were not favorable for a successful launch today! Those eager 5th graders are learning a lesson on patience!
FAMILY FUN FEST: The CCE Family Fun Fest will be Saturday, April 2nd, from 1-4 p.m. and volunteers are needed!
To sign up to volunteer, go to http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0445a5a729a64-funfest1. Just some of the many volunteer needs are: help man a booth, donate baked goods for the cake walk, work the concessions area, paint faces, help sell tickets and MANY more!
If your company would like to sponsor the event for $50 or $100 or donate to the silent auction, please contact Teryl Booth [email protected] or Elizabeth Ewald at[email protected]. This is a great way to advertise your business and support our school at the same time!
SAVE THE DATES: We have so many memorable activities planned for the end of the year! Third grade has a tradition of ending the school year with a camping unit. The objectives will include students researching a Texas state park and planning an imaginary 5-day camping trip to that park, but we will do much more than just that. This unit will involve all content areas: Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Below is a list of days when we will need parent volunteers. If you can help with one of the following activities, please let me teacher know. Thank you!!!!
May 20: Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Field Trip
May 25: “Fishing Day” at Trailhead Park from 8:30-11:00.
All activities are planned. Each class will need 3 parents to help at the stations. Please let your teacher know if you can volunteer.
May 27: Campout Day
Parent chaperones are not needed, but each class will need four tents pitched outside CCE. Please let me teacher know if you have a tent, and are willing to put it up that morning before school.
