I am honored and excited to be your child's third grade teacher at Canyon Creek Elementary! We have an exciting year ahead of us. Since we will be working together this year, I would like you to know a little about me.
I grew up in Deer Park, Texas and went to college at Southwest Texas State University (Texas State), and I earned my masters degree at University of Houston. This is my 31st year to teach and my 16th year at CCE and I couldn't possibly feel more at home. My husband, Kevin, and I keep very busy with our son, Brody, who is a eighth grader at Wiley Middle School. We like to spend our time outdoors with our sweet Australian Shepherd, Sunshine, playing sports, and cuddling with our kitties, Sugar and Lucky.
I feel strongly that students will experience more success when they are part of a community where they feel safe and appreciated. One of my first goals for the year is to create an environment in which we all feel valued and are happy to spend our time together each day.
Strong parent-teacher relationships are essential for maximum school success. With that in mind, I will communicate with you through our Classroom Newsletter Blog, Google Classroom, Tuesday Folders, telephone calls, email and conferences. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time.
I appreciate the opportunity I have to teach and learn with your child (my students), and to help them grow as life-long learners. Looking forward to an exceptional year!
Fondly,
Joni Biggers
