FISHING DAY & CAMP-OUT: We’ve had two wonderful days of fishing and camping this week! The rain did not stay away Friday morning, however we all were comfy and cozy inside. Many thanks to Mike Hall, Marty and Elissa Allen for providing our awesome tents. Also, thank you to all the parents who donated ingredients to our Trail Mix Bar. This was a culminating activity for our traditional camping unit, and we couldn’t have done it without all the help. Not to mention, the children LOVED making their own scrumptious snack.
AUSTIN REPTILE SHOW: During our camp-out we also had the pleasure of having Michael Foux entertain the children with a very informative presentation about reptiles from all over the world! The children saw a variety of lizards, snakes and even a large tortoise. Hopefully they were eager to share this with you.
RECYCLE BAGS NEEDED: I am needing your child to bring a cloth grocery store bag to school that we can use to store some of the many things that will be going home on the last day of school. The green HEB bags would be perfect for our needs, but if you have a large department store bag with handles (such as Macy’s), that would also work. Please make sure that your child’s name or your family’s last name is somewhere on the bag.
On the last day of school, your child will be carrying home a lot of third grade supplies and work. Please plan on helping your child carry his/her belongings. Thanks!
YEARBOOKS: They went home on Friday with your child. We hope you enjoy them, we think they are pretty special. If they would like to have it signed by classmates, please have them bring them back on Thursday. We will not be making calls to have them brought to up to school, maybe they can store them in their backpack.
PARTY TIME: Our end of year class party will be held on Thursday, June 2, from 8:00 am to 9:30 am. Our third grade room moms have a fun filled party planned! A different type of breakfast food will be served in each of the four classrooms. Students will rotate through each of the rooms for a delicious breakfast item and participate in a fun activity. The homeroom mom(s) and her helpers stay in their own rooms to serve all 4 classes during the rotations. I hope you can join us to celebrate the end of our third grade year together.
Childcare will not be provided for End of the Year Parties. We respectfully ask that younger siblings do not attend these parties. If you plan on attending the party please complete this form so your badge can be preprinted for you. As always, thank you for making your own arrangements for childcare.
Many thanks to Simone Zeschuk, our room mom, for all she has done to make this a memorable year for us! Her talents, warm nature, and fun spirit made every party a blast!! Thank you to our many parent volunteers who assisted throughout the year for our events. Every celebration has been a joyful memory.
REPORT CARDS: Report cards are coming home on Thursday, the last day of school. If your child earned a Six Flags ticket from the library reading incentive, it will be in the report card envelope.
LEAVING EARLY: Please contact the office and me if your summer travel plans begin before June 2nd.
Character Trait of the Month: Motivation!
This will be my last newsletter of the year, so I have a few parting words. First of all, thank you for all the support you provide from home and at school. Third grade is able to do so many fun and enriching activities because of the CCE PTA and its many volunteers. Secondly, it has been a delight to teach your children. This group is filled with bright, kind, creative and witty kids. I will truly miss them. Finally, I hope you and your family have a safe and relaxing summer.
UPCOMING DATES:

June 2: Autograph Party - Children need to bring their yearbook
