WELCOME to Canyon Creek Alvarez family! We are so excited to welcome our new classmate, Holden! I know the children will all do their best to make him feel welcome. He is a bright addition to the “Biggers’ Bunch!”
Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! I sure did enjoy spending time with family and friends.
THANK YOU: Thank you all for making my birthday so special! I truly appreciate all the sweet cards, beautiful flowers and generous gifts.
Also, thank you so much for all your donations for our Stone Soup. Our soup was a delicious treat and it all started with three stones.
STUDENT COUNCIL: CRAZY SOCK DAY!! Student Council will have their first “Spirit Day” on this Monday, November 30th. Wear crazy socks and show your spirit!!!
EARLY DISMISSAL: On Wednesday, December 2nd students will be dismissed at 12:45.
TAG REFERRAL: The window for TAG referrals opened on Monday, November 16th and closes on Tuesday, December 8th. The paperwork can be found on the district gifted and advanced academic services webpage.
NUTCRACKER: Permission slips will be coming home soon for our annual “Nutcracker” performance. The date is December 10th and we are seeing the second act. Due to the timing we need ALL students to bring lunch from home that day. We will eat in our class before we board the bus.
DECEMBER ‘ROUND THE WORLD: If your child has a speaking part in “December ‘Round the World,” he/she should have their lines memorized over the Thanksgiving holiday. Now is the time to work on projection. Have your child spend a few minutes each night saying their lines SLOWLY and LOUDLY.
*****Also, we are looking to borrow two Korean and one Japanese outfit for “boys”. Possibility to borrow a few Spanish girls, too. We have asked students to ask around. No one should buy anything. As many of you know, we have MOST costumes.
COSTUMES: Costumes for “December ‘Round the World” are due in the classroom no later than December 14th. Please send your child’s costume neatly ironed on a hanger. If jeans are part of the costume, your child should wear them on the days of the performances. All shoes and accessories should be placed in a bag and labeled with your child’s name. If you take a few extra minutes at home to help us with organization, we will be most appreciative.
PERFORMANCES: The performances for “December “Round the World” are on December 15th and 16th. On Tuesday, December 15th, students will perform for the entire school at 1:15 p.m. On Wednesday, December 16th, parents are invited to a 8:15 a.m. performance. This early performance allows parents to be entertained before going to work. What a great way to begin your day!
HOLIDAY PARTY: Our holiday party festivities will be on Thursday, December 17th at 1:30. All parents are welcome. Preschool siblings are not allowed, but PTA is providing babysitting. The details will follow soon.
