Happy Birthday to Mackenzie and Krish!
Congratulations to the Biggers’ Bunch for completing the Six Flags to Read to Succeed! Way to go 3rd graders!
FRIDAY FEAST: Thank you to the PTA for providing the faculty and staff with a fabulous luncheon today. First Grade parents provided a delicious array of soups, salads, breads, and desserts. Such signs of appreciation are heartwarming as well as “tummy-filling”.
THIRD GRADE ECONOMIC EXPO: Our annual Expo was a smashing success! Our profit was approximately an astounding $2,600. The Expo was so much fun, and it was exciting to see the children sell their fabulous products. Your children learned a lot about economics through this unit, and we can definitely see some future entrepreneurs. We truly appreciate the support you extended while helping your child make their products and the time you took out of your busy schedules to bake. Of course, your purchases of fine merchandise were the reason we were able to surpass our goal. We know Water To Thrive will be thrilled with our donation when they return to visit on March 29th.
EARLY RELEASE: Next Wednesday is Early Release, 12:45, for the students. Please make arrangements if needed. Lunch times are also adjusted that day.
FUN RUN: Please return your participation form and payment by March 2nd. Looks like it will be a great event!
STRUCTURES & FUNCTIONS LAB: Thank you to all of the families that have responded to the Sign -up Genius and sent in items for our creative since lab. We have lots of materials to use!
SOCIAL CONTRACTS: Classes reviewed and, in some cases, revised our Social Contracts. As a class, we have been working very hard on being better listeners, following directions the first time they are given, and being more respectful of each other and the time we have for our lessons. I appreciate your encouraging words at home.
MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL: Third Graders have the opportunity to play their recorders at this event. Mrs. Martin sent information in their Tuesday folder. The required practice dates are 3/4 and 3/11 at 3:00. All students must have their OWN recorder.
From the Counselor: March is here! As of February 29, there are ONLY 62 days left of school. So guess what our Character Word of the Month is? PERSEVERANCE!! Perseverance means that you keep going ... you keep pushing yourself--even when you want to give up. If you are doing homework or a chore, you keep working until you are done. Giving up is not an option. In March, if your teacher sees you showing perseverance, then you will get a sticker to wear all day so that other students will know that you demonstrated our Character Word of the Month!
From the Nurse: Please look for the “Walk Across Texas Challenge” letter and calendar that will be in this week’s Tuesday folder! Which grade level will “walk” the most miles, or will it be the staff??
From the Office: Spring student photo proofs will be in the Tuesday folder. If you are interested in ordering pictures, please return your orders to school no later than Wednesday, March 9. Thank you!
