CONFERENCES: Thank you for coming to conferences. Meeting with parents is an enjoyable time to share with each other your child's strengths and the opportunities for growth. We know it is hard to schedule these, but feel it is always worth the time. Parents and teachers on the same page will make this an enjoyable year.
FRIDAY FEAST: Yummy! Thank you to the PTA and 5th Grade Parents for providing the faculty and staff with a delicious Italian lunch yesterday. This is a welcomed treat on a Friday after a long week. These monthly feasts are very much appreciated.

READING INCENTIVE PROGRAM: "Books ARRRRR! Me Treasure" The students are to read a book from every section of the library. When they have finished tackling the selections they have chosen to read, the reverse side of this form must be completely filled out and signed by a parent. When each student completes the form, they may take it to the library.
IXL MATH: Thank you for encouraging your child to practice nightly. IXL offers students a terrific opportunity to practice skills they are learning in the classroom.
BOX TOPS CONTEST: Please continue to send in box tops! This contest ends Friday, October 2nd.
UNITS OF STUDY FOR THIS WEEK:
READING/WRITING: Students will begin to make inferences using text evidence to support understanding. Students will also continue writing a personal narrative and narrowing their focus. These are stories that share a moment of time from their memory.
SCIENCE: Students will be continuing measuring, testing, and recording physical properties of matter, including temperature, mass, and magnetism.
MATH: Students will practice the double, double strategies to multiply by 2's and 4's.
