CCE students enjoyed a moving and informative Veteran’s Day program. Special thanks to Mrs. Martin, the 5th grade performers and our veterans, Mr. Alvarez, Mrs. Hall and Mr. Burke for sharing their experiences serving our country.
I would like to express my gratitude to those of you who have served or have a loved one serving in our military. Your service and sacrifice is appreciated. Also, thank you for the donations to the PTA Turkey Project. I am so thankful to work at such a lovely and compassionate school. It is wonderful to help those in need. Our community is very blessed.
Gratefully,
Joni Biggers

Fall Picture Retakes:
Your child’s school pictures were sent home this week. If you are not happy with the photo, retakes will be November 30th. Simply send the packet back on that date with your student, and they will have their picture retaken. If you order digital pictures only, let your child’s teacher know you would like their picture taken again on November 30th.
Recess:
Please make sure your child is dressed for the cold/damp weather. We try to make it outside unless there is heavy rain or freezing temperatures.
Weekly Homework:
Planners are completed daily. Please check and initial your child’s planner nightly. These students still require support from home.
Students are required to read for a minimum of 20 minutes per night and record a quick response on their reading logs. Logs are DUE every Wednesday. Book Bucks are earned with every 100 minutes read. Students can “purchase” books from our “Book Buck Library” with 10 book bucks.
Nightly reading is crucial to your child's overall reading success. Reading should be an interactive process, so please remember to initial your child's log before turning it in on Wednesday.
Each Friday students will receive spelling lists and worksheets. Practice spelling the words correctly and complete the homework worksheets as they are due each Thursday. Spelling Tests will be administered on Fridays.
