Thank you to Teryl Booth, Dehna Richards, Julianna Yoes, Carolina Cuevas, Prafulla Geetla and Julianne Farhataziz for being awesome chaperones on our fun field trip to Lady Bird Wildflower Center. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful flowers blooming and butterflies fluttering. We had a GREAT time!
FISHING AND CAMPING DAY
Fishing and Camping Volunteers: Please let me know if you have any questions after reading the detailed information that was in your child’s Tuesday folder regarding Fishing Stations and Tent set up locations. I truly appreciate your support, and look forward to spending some time outdoors learning more about nature and camping with my class.
FIELD DAY
Our annual field day is Tuesday, May 22nd. We are looking forward to a full day of new and exciting activities! Students should bring a towel, a change of clothes, and a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated. Students should wear closed-toed shoes or water shoes (no flip-flops, please). Some of our activities will involve getting wet! Students are allowed to wear swimsuits as long as they wear t-shirts or cover ups that follow our district dress code policy. The new Comets Field Day t-shirt would be a great choice as a cover-up! Please apply all sunscreen at home, as teachers are not responsible for this.
If we have bad weather, Field Day will go on with indoor activities.
DROP OFF/PICK UP CHANGE
All cars must use the First Grade car rider line for drop off and pick up on Field Day. Please allow a little extra time on this day. There will no parking on the west side of the school that day. Please keep our students safe and follow the directions from our staff and safety patrol.
COOK-OUT DURING LUNCH
Grilled hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches are on the menu for Tuesday. If you are planning on eating lunch, please bring exact change or small bills. The cost is $3.60. You are also welcome to bring food in and eat with your child during their lunch period. Don’t forget a blanket if you want to eat outside!
VOLUNTEERS
If you are volunteering on Field Day, thank you! We will have charts to explain where to go and what time! Thank you!
THIRD GRADE SHOWCASE
The third grade students and teachers are excited for our Third Grade Showcase Wednesday morning, May 23rd from 7:20-7:40. Your favorite third grader will be ready to show you some of the great work that he/she has been doing this year! Please come to cheer your child's hard work and show your appreciation for all he/she has learned in Third Grade.
END OF YEAR CLASS PARTY
Our end of year class party will be held on Friday, May 25, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. Our third grade room moms have a fun filled party planned! I hope you can join us to celebrate the end of our third grade year together.
Childcare will not be provided for End of the Year Parties. We respectfully ask that younger siblings do not attend these parties.
