Congratulations to Ananth for being our marvelous MVP of the week! We enjoyed learning more about our special classmate when he shared his banner with us.
A huge Thank you to all who helped make our Valentine’s Day party such a success! The celebration included a challenging craft with marshmallows, yummy ice cream sundaes, and finally the best part of all, opening of our Valentines! Thank you all for my cards with sweet sentiments, yummy treats, flowers, and love!
Please continue to encourage your child to complete the PAWS library reading program: Our class goal is to have 100% participation, and we are almost there. Forms are due February 28th. Thank you!
Friendly reminder… no school on Monday and Tuesday. Enjoy your loooong weekend!
Gratefully,

3rd GRADE AND CCE CAMPUS NEWS
CCE Character Trait for February is Optimistic!
Spring Pictures:
If you are planning on purchasing your child’s spring pictures please return payment and order form to school by Monday, February 19th. Although it is a student holiday, staff will be on campus.
Education Galaxy App:
Students took the pretest for Education Galaxy Math. This is the online educational app you signed a permission slip for your child to use. Most students finished the diagnostic pretest and started to work on "my recommended topics for instruction". Students may use this app at home as well! Their username is capital S followed by their 6 digit student ID number (no space). Their password is the same. They are encouraged to spend a minimum of 10 minutes per day working on the app. As soon as students complete the pretest for reading and writing it will be available as well. We are super excited about using Education Galaxy to help make learning more FUN!
MULTICULTURAL FAIR IS COMING!
The Multicultural Fair is next Friday, February 23rd. Dinner service will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Dinner tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for children. Cash only, please. The country booths will open at 5:00 p.m. The performances will begin at 6:15 p.m. in the cafeteria.
WEEKLY HOMEWORK:
Planners are completed daily. Please check and initial your child’s planner nightly. These students still require support from home.
*****NEW*****Third Graders were introduced to a new reading log for the 2nd semester. Students are still required to read for a minimum of 20 minutes per night and record a response on their reading log. This week, our class is to respond by writing a brief summary about what they have read each night. Logs are DUE every Wednesday. Book Bucks are earned with every 100 minutes read. Students can “purchase” books from our “Book Buck Library” with 10 book bucks.
Nightly reading is crucial to your child's overall reading success. Reading should be an interactive process, so please remember to initial your child's log before turning it in on Wednesday.
Each Friday students will receive spelling lists and worksheets. Practice spelling the words correctly and complete the homework worksheets as they are due each Thursday. Spelling Tests will be administered on Fridays.
